Thrift Town is a nearby thrift store that I have fallen in love with. It is cheaper than the DI, and has better quality stuff! I went this afternoon with the kids because they had a 30% off everything sale. This is what I got: 3 shirts for me, 2 shirts for Marco, 2 shirts and a skirt for Lucia, 2 shirts, a skirt and a hat for Sylvie. Some of the brands are Gap, Old Navy and all in good condition! Guess how much I spent? $16.32. Yes, that's right-all this stuff for less than $20! I love a deal and I feel I'm doing my part to, "Use it again, hand it down, wear it out or do without!" (I think that's the quote, but I'm not sure-you get the jist)

Sylvie is 8 months old!
Well, what is there to report this month...She loves to stand! She will rock back and forth like she's ready to launch herself. This month has been hard for her as far as sleeping. She is teething big time, although none have broken through yet! I'll be glad when this teething phase is over! She used to sleep through the night but lately has been waking up twice a night. It's really taking a toll on Mommy. She is eating much better now. She loves the Gerber fruit mixed with grains, but would rather feed herself anything she can get her hands on. Speaking of hands-she does this funny thing with her thumb. She'll stick it out and bang it on surfaces really hard. It's pretty funny. She's becoming wary of strangers lately-she'll still let people hold her, but she gives them this look like, "Who are you and why are you holding me?" People always say, "She's so serious!" It's true, but she has her fun-loving side too. We love her so much-our Mika girl, Sylv Sylv, Cutie pie.

I wish...
We could buy a house now! And, that our cousins could live closeby. Here are some more pictures of the fun we had last week with Tami, Noelle and Corom. We loved having them here. Thanks Tami and Mom for watching the kids so we could go to the temple! Also, we are going to have two new cousins this year! Tami and Dan are expecting a baby boy in September and Callie and Brian are expecting a girl in October. We are so excited!

Marco and his blankie
Crashed out under the table at Grandma's house with his blankie (of course, he won't go anywhere without it.)
Is having a 2 1/2 year old boy my trial in life right now? He is so sweet at times, but other times...I think he's going to push me over the edge! I know I can always count on him for a hug when I'm down and sometimes I have to remember to ask for one instead of getting mad at him. Here is what happened today: He dumped a cup of apple juice into a bag of clothes I was going to return to Ross and now can't. He poured dish soap into the pot of chicken I had just drained and had sitting in the sink to use for dinner. He hit and spit on Lucia while she was trying to help him clean up their room. His new think is when he asks for something, "Mommy, I want chocolate milk!" and I say, "Not until you clean up your mess." He'll say "whom, whom, whoooom", in a very somber tone. It's pretty funny. To all you mothers out there with young sons-my hats are off to you! Julio keeps telling me he'll be an easy teenager-we just need to get him potty trained first. I ask Marco when that'll be and he'll say, "pretty soon mom".

Family Time
Sylvie looking so cute!
Lucia and Grandma getting their cuddle time.
The gang watching Funniest Videos.
Cousins eating getting ready to eat dinner outside.
We've been enjoying having our cousins and Aunt Tami here visiting. The kids played all day yesterday to their hearts content. We had Grandma and Grandpa, Uncle B, Tami, Noelle and Corom over for dinner last night. Julio cooked. He likes to do the Sunday dinners!

Easter
Before I forget, I've got to write about Easter weekend. On Thursday night, we had an FHE to talk about why we celebrate Easter. It was a little bit over the kids' heads, but I think they got the jist of it. Friday we dyed eggs. We decided to continue our new tradition of having the Easter Bunny come to our house on Saturday morning. The kids got up way too early and peaked in the living room to see if he came. They were so excited about the little things in their baskets and about finding the eggs. Then Julio took them to the park for the Easter egg hunt they do there. They had a lot of candy. We then decided on Saturday to get Marco a toddler bed (used). So, with all the candy and the excitement of a new bed, they went to bed way too late!
Sunday was a nice day of going to church in the morning and then having a relaxing afternoon. I was making a carrott cake to take to my mom's for dessert when Lucia asked, "That's the same kind of cake you made for Grandma's birthday last year!" She has the memory of an elephant. We then got to go to Grandma and Grandpa's where more Easter baskets and another egg hunt (courtesy of Uncle B) was awaiting them. They were so excited for their new outfits and little gifts and candy from Grandma. We had our traditional dinner which was very yummy and the delicious carrott cake.
