Easter festivities

Last week was Spring Break. I had visions of us doing a lot of fun things. That didn’t happen. Oh well.  The Sunday before Easter, we had dinner and an Easter egg hunt. Grandma and Uncle B hid 64 Easter eggs! That’s a LOT!

On Friday night, we dyed eggs in preparation for the Easter Bunny to come. He came Friday night instead of Saturday-a good tradition, I think, because then it’s not so chaotic Sunday morning when we’re trying to get ready for church.

Here are the baskets the Easter Bunny left.

Here they are discovering what they got

P3293234P3293247P3293250Sylvie and Marco loved the Peeps-they were gone in 10 seconds.

P3293255Lucia loved her notebook and pens.P3293266Every time Tessa found an egg, she would hold it up and shout, “EGG!”

After they found all the eggs at home, we all got dressed and went to ANOTHER (count them 3) egg hunt at a church in Rancho Cordova. Everything was free! The egg hunts were divided by age groups and were staggered ever 15 minutes, so it worked out great for us. They had bounce houses, free games, crafts and lunch. It was fun but the kids got WAY too much candy!

P3293340P3293450It took Tessa a few minutes to figure out that she could pick up the eggs and put them in her basket. She got a ton of eggs!

P3293457Lucia was bummed her bunny got smeared.

P3293553Marco’s tactic was to go to the back and pick up all the eggs lined up on a wall. There was no competition there and he got a lot of eggs.

P3293598Lucia just picked them up as she went.

It was pretty warm on Saturday, so after the egg hunt we went home. Marco practiced riding his bike and finally got it down! He can now ride a 2 wheeler! It’s about time!
