Hello blogland! It's been a while!

Sylvia has been reading an old blog book and Lucia has been asking me why I don't blog anymore. I think with social media, blogging has gone by the wayside. So here is an update of what is going on in our family.
Julio is still working at Liberty Mutual-he's third from the top of the letterhead now. Hoping he gets a good raise next month. He's been doing home improvements (fixing flooring and baseboards after our washer flooded the hallway) and planning our trip to Italy!
Me-I've been subbing and volunteering as art docent in Sylvia and Tessa's classes at school. I recently was released as Primary President. I will miss the kids, but not all the responsibilities. It was a good learning experience for me being my first time in leadership. Julio and I were called to teach the 14 and 15 year olds in Sunday School. I'm so excited for our trip to Italy next month!!!! We're also hoping to move this year-I check the listings everyday, hoping to find something that's good in our price range.
Lucia-8th grader extraordinaire! She is getting straight A's in all her classes-all honors. She's in the media class this year and writes the script for the Carnegie Connection each day. She does Jazz Band after school on Fridays. She got her braces on a couple of weeks ago and hates them. She is taller than I am by a couple of inches now. She's still very into her art, but doesn't care much about clothes, make-up and definitely not boys! She just got into Bella Vista High School, so we are very relieved about that.
Marco-6th grader. He's adjusting to middle school and doing better about getting his homework turned in. He does best in math and P.E. and just started computer coding this semester. I got a call that he did a good deed at school-reporting a kid who was suicidal. Even if he wasn't, at least Marco was looking out for him. He still spends lots of time with the neighbor boys-Christian and Eli and playing video games on his phone or tablet.
Sylvia-4th grader. She's doing well this year. She learned all her math facts and is reading chapter books. She likes the comic book format best. She has friends that she takes to social group 3 times a week. Her best friend is Taylor-she's so sweet and good with her. She enjoys going to Activity Days twice a month since that's "her thing". She is still obsessed with Hello Kitty.
Tessa-1st grader. She is doing so much better in reading since she was added to both morning and afternoon reading groups. (A major convenience for me). She has lots of friends that she plays with every day at recess. She loves to draw and do art at home. She and Sylvia play well together-Shopkins, princess dolls, games. She is excited to do soccer this year-she practices kicking the ball with Marco all the time.
All of the kids love our guinea pigs-Tommy and Bob. We got them a bigger cage so they can run around more. They are totally spoiled with lots of fresh veggies and love and affection every day.
Our goals for this year are to have Family Home Evening every week, move to a bigger house, and travel!  I'll try to do better about updating the blog.
