Sylvie enjoys babyfood!
What a week it has been! We are tired! Julio started his new job on Monday and he's been working 12 hour days. He says they are really busy. They have been signing up 5 or 6 new bankruptcy clients per day. So, I guess being busy is good. It's been quite an adjustment for me-not having him home during dinner or when the kids wake up. So, we decided to spend some family time together today. We drove to Fairfield to see the Jelly Belly Factory. They give free tours and show you how they make the candy and give out lots of free samples. The kids had a great time. We then went and got dinner at Sizzler. Boy were there a lot of fat people there! We just went because it's cheap! Anyway, we are tired still and hope to get some rest tomorrow. Hope you all had a good weekend.

Mad Mommy Moment

So, we had Stake Conference today (for those who don't know what that is, it's a large church meeting for all the members in the area). We had a broadcast from Salt Lake with speakers from the leadership of the church. Elder Ballard gave a really good talk-at least from the maybe 30% of what I heard of it. The majority of the time, I was in the bathroom changing Sylvie and nursing her, then sitting with Marco and Lucia while Julio took the baby to the back to walk her around. Marco was playing with a party blower that he kept trying to hit the people sitting behind us with. He took off his shoes AND socks. He dumped out all the crayons and started throwing them around, he crumbled up his granola bar all over the floor. Lucia was drawing and being mellow-but, she was singing in a not-so-quiet voice and when I tried to ask her to be quiet, she ignored me until I took away her pen. She then threw herself on top of me and started whining loudly, "I want to draw!" So, I was at the end of my patience-we packed up and left before the last speaker. What do you think? Is it worth dragging your kids out in the rain to sit through a two hour meeting in the dark on a crowded pew?????

Lately...

Ok, so these pictures aren't very good. Anyway, we had Abuela here visiting this weekend. I felt bad because we had terrible weather the entire time. Friday night, she watched the kids for us and we did an early Valentine's Day dinner at an Italian restaurant downtown. It was not that great. I always measure how good a restaurant is by their gnocchi. If the gnocchi aren't good, then I won't go back. I didn't like their gnocchi and the owner kicked out some other patrons right next to us and made a big scene! It was so awkward. Then, on Saturday, Julio wasn't around because he had to go to his new job and be trained. So, we didn't do much that day-just went to McDonald's for lunch, where I am positive is where Lucia got the stomach flu virus. We went to church on Sunday and had planned to go to the Jelly Belly Factory yesterday, but were unable to because Lucia got sick. So, that was it! Not too exciting.

Today, we weathered the storm to go downtown for Julio's farewell lunch with his co-workers. It was good food despite the pouring rain that we had to battle to get there. Lucia would not talk to anybody or look at the camera. I think it is going to be a long week with her off school. We have plans to go play at the mall with some friends tomorrow. Is there a lawyer in the house?

I'm sure many of you have already heard, but for those of you who haven't, Julio is the newest associate at the Flahive Law Firm. He will be doing wills and trusts to start out and will be their Spanish speaking attorney. The picture above is of his new boss and wife-they are both attorneys. The firm is local-here in Folsom and he starts on Feb. 23rd. He's pretty excited for the opportunity to be trained in many areas of law including bankruptcy, tax, family law and business law. With the job market being so bad around here, we feel very blessed that he has found a job. Thanks for all of your support and prayers. I know it helped!

Weekend Update

So, funny thing happenned at the doctor's office yesterday. Marco had to go in to be checked out for his terrible cough and wheezing. Turns out he has asthma induced by a virus. Anyway, while we were waiting, we saw a man wearing a bandana on his head and he had lots of tattoos and a gold tooth. Marco pointed to him and said, "There's a pirate!" We laughed so hard.

They had free museum day here in Sacramento yesterday, so Julio took Lucia and Marco to the California Railroad Museum. Lucia said, "It's extremely crowded in here." So they didn't stay long.

Above-Sylvie has mastered Marco's lion "ROARRR!!"" She loves the excer-saucer. We just love this baby-she is so sweet and fun!

Finally, we had the fam over for dinner tonight and Julio made delicious lobster tails! As my dad said, "It was good, but just a teaser." We could have eaten a lot more lobster.

Dress up!

Lucia was fortunate to be invited to a Fancy Nancy party this weekend. She was asked to dress fancy, so she did. She looked so cute and had a great time at the party getting her nails done, hair glittered, had a tea party, etc. Marco doesn't like to be left out-so he put on his Batman costume that Aunt Tami made for him. He loves it!
