Sylvie is 7 months old!

Notice the difference in skin tone?
I can't believe how fast time is going and that our baby is already 7 months! She is proving to be a little "doitmyselfer". She is not fond of baby food and would rather feed herself. She likes bananas and strawberries, graham crackers and bread. She did eat pureed carrotts today, so that's good! She is a solid sitter now and can roll over. She loves to stand up and rock back and forth-she's ready to take off! I predict she will be an early walker like her bubba and sissy. She is teething now and hasn't been as well as of late. She drools like a faucett and is a little bit fussier than usual. Hopefully they'll come in soon (although nursing might be tough). She is our little sunshine and we love her!

A visit from cousin Valerie

Lucia, Marco, and Valerie on the California/Nevada Border

At Lake Tahoe

Marco and Lucia mesmerized by a patch of snow in a casino parking lot.

Sylvia, Valerie, and Julio having lunch in Folsom

Enjoying the sun at the Sacramento Temple

We had a pretty eventful weekend. Julio's niece came up from L.A. to visit on Thursday night. On Friday we went up to the temple and then to see Julio's new office up in Folsom. We took a picnic lunch and ate up there. We did a movie night at home and watched "Twilight" (all the while Julio was making snide remarks about it) Then Saturday we decided to go up to South Lake Tahoe. The drive up was very hard-the kids got carsick and Marco puked in the back seat and Lucia was screaming about her ears. We had to stop 4 times during the 2 hour drive. Sylvia was the only one who didn't complain :-) We had planned to eat at this fabulous Italian restaurant that we'd eaten at a couple of years ago. So, we were starving and when we got there, it was closed. So we had about 3 hours to kill before it opened. We decided to go check out the Nevada side of the lake. We then went miniature golfing. It was the kids first time and they had a lot of fun. Finally, we were able to go to Tep's Villa Roma and enjoy the delicious bread sticks, salad bar and entrees. It was worth the drive. The kids had fun and were tired out enough to sleep almost the entire time home. So, the cousins got some quality time and a little get away. Lucia said, "Mom, let's not do anymore field trips for a while, because I get too carsick!" Yeah, our kids aren't great travellers.

Update on the detox

So, I did my one day detox and I felt better after many trips to the bathroom. My headaches are gone and I have more energy. I've been excercising almost every day (except Sunday when I totally cheated and had potroast and dessert). I'm happy to report that I've already lost 4 pounds! I've got a long ways to go with my weight loss and being happy with myself, but it is a start.

Detox today

So, I've been writing about how crappy I've been feeling lately and finally decided to do something abou it-TODAY!I'm doing doing a 1 day detox program prescribed by Dr. Mao on the internet.
So far, I've had a glass of warm filtered water with lemon juice and oatmeal with added oat bran and soy milk with raw pumpkin. I'm going to do yoga now! I'll write more later about my homemade veggie and herb broth and the supplements I'll be taking. Hopefully I will feel a little bit better.

It's only been a week?

Ok, so I guess I should blog a little bit. It's been one long week with Julio working 7-7 everyday. It is quite an adjustment for me and I feel tired all the time. I had a bunch of lab work done and my doctor told me everything is normal-except my cholesterol could be a little lower and I need to exercise more. I do get out and walk on Saturdays. I know that isn't enough, but it's dark when Julio leaves in the morning and dark when he gets home. I would rather not take the double stroller out on our street which has no sidewalk. Any suggestions for good work out DVDs? (note the fat me in the above picture) These pictures were taken before church last week. I know Marco doesn't match, but he picks out his own clothes and is very insistant on wearing a tie like Daddy. Anyway, I guess that's all for now.
