An unusual January

It’s been an unseasonably warm winter so far. It’s kind of nice, but we do need rain so badly. Every morning, I look out the window to see if there are any clouds, but all I see is blue skies and sun. We had the priveledge of having Elder Dallon H. Oaks come to our Stake Conference on Sunday. He spoke of the faith of the people praying together to bring rain. We will have a state wide fast in February for rain. Lucia and I got to shake his hand after the meeting. It was an uplifting experience.

We’ve had a lot of sickness this month-someone’s been sick pretty much every day this month. As a result, I’ve only subbed 4 days so far. Oh well-I guess some months are like that.

Lucia had activity days this week. Her activity leader sent me an email and shared this:

I just needed to take a minute and let you know how amazing your daughter is.  During our Tea Party I asked all of the girls where they would like to go if they could go anywhere.  They all wanted to go to beach get a ways or amusement parks, all typical and normal for girls this age.  When I asked Lucia she asked me if it had to be an actual place, of course I said no.  Then she said she would like to go inside her sisters brain just to see what she sees, to see the world the way she sees it.  I was so touched and blown away by her compassion for Sylvia.  I just wanted to share that with you.

Lucia is a very special girl! I’m so blessed to be her mom!

Here are some pics of what the kids have been up to.

Our cousins came to visit

We got to spend the week after Christmas with our Aldama cousins. They came for the special event of Noelle’s baptism. We were so happy to be a part of her special day (even if we did have to sing Winking smile)
